ABOUT US

B.Y.O.A was an idea first thought about, by Jose P.L. He then decided to share this unique idea with his close friends, Stephen Dass and Rahul Thomas Venkatesh.

Jose, a post graduate in computer science; has always been inclined to art and theatre from his school days. He has participated and has been involved in several plays and theatre fests to feed this passion. He is an entrepreneur, avid art enthusiast, a self-taught photographer and painter and his main passion is to promote art.

Stephen Dass, an M.B.A in H.R, is currently a freelance Human Resource Consultant and an Event Manager. He runs a business venture called Eclipse Ventures which is involved in recruitment consulting and event planning and organizing. Some of his notable initiatives have been REDRAIN-rock concert-Webb’s Ground, Bangalore; Enter the Battle Zone Rock Fest-Alliance Francaise, POWERWALK-Leadership Seminar-J.N Tata Auditorium, and more.

Rahul Thomas Venkatesh, a graduate in Fine Arts (Illustration and Painting) from U.S.A has also completed a diploma in 2D animation. He currently resides in India and is working on an independent 2D animation film. Apart from his proficiency in drawing, Rahul is an excellent artist and painter and art enthusiast.

The coming together of these three friends is really the synergy and driving force to attaining to B.Y.O.A concept.

THE CAUSE

B.Y.O.A* potentially, an bi-annual event, is aimed at providing a venue/platform for the so called “Unknown Artist”. The event is aimed at providing these lesser known upcoming artists with a platform to display their pieces of art, for wider exposure and recognition. This may in turn be an opportunity for them to network with other such artists/artisans. They may consist of people from all walks of life, all age groups, ranging from students to housewives to small time professionals.

This is a “NOT-FOR-PROFIT” and “FREE-FOR-ALL” event.

THE VISION


  • To continue this event bi-annually, and make it an ongoing event not just in Bangalore but across various cities in India.
  • To start a Club/Society for artists to sign-up and be part of.
  • Organizing meets, workshops, discussions for members as well as others.
  • To set-up an interactive website with complete Site features, Forums, Blogs, etc for a wider online experience across cities and countries.

THE EVENT

An all-day art event at a strategic location in Bangalore.
Displaying art* ranging from Paintings, Digital Art, Sculpture, Photography, Short films (animation or otherwise), Performance Art (future plans)
Providing space and opportunity to display and network
Open-for-all event, where walk-ins are free to general public.
